The general objectives of the Centre are to gather thorough understanding of both the cultural and constructive features and the multi-layered character of the historical architectural, urban and rural heritage, thereby transcending national, cultural and conventional professional boundaries to stimulate exchange and feedback between academic theoretical research and the conservation practice
to encourage intervention in the context of the historical architectural or urban environment, that reflect concepts of heritage conservation and sustainable development. Centre's expertise: - Recognize experience in onsite data collection and interpretation in world heritage sites - Appropriate and timely implementation of recording, documentation and information systems in the conservation of cultural heritage - Development of strategies for improving the quality and sustainability of the built environment by promoting the protection of cultural heritage - Development of preventive maintenance tools for monitoring of cultural heritage - Work in cooperation with academic institutions, inter and governmental organizations, and the industry in promoting the conservation of heritage - GIS development expertise for spatial planning

Neza Cebron Lipovec, graduated in 2004 at the Faculty of Art (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia) in History of Art and Italian language and literature, with the thesis in History of Art about religious buildings in Trieste in the 19th century. Having enrolled in the RLICC in 2005, in September 2007, Neža achieved the degree in Master in Conservation of Monuments and Sites at RLICC with a thesis on Modern architecture in historic city centres, focusing on the case study of the architect Edo Mihevc in her hometown Koper. Since October 2007 she is a PhD researcher at RLICC where she is carrying out a research on organized practices of monitoring and maintenance in Europe. |
